I have some apologies to make……this should all have been posted a lot sooner than today!
Firstly a belated thank you to Patsye of Whimseytopia, who sent me one of her Halloween ATC’s at the beginning of the month. Although in Australia Halloween is not celebrated in quite the same way as it is in the USA, I’m told by those with grand-children that trick or treating is beginning to take off here. I can certainly recall doing it when a child living in Virginia in the 50’s. Patsye describes it as her favourite time of the year, and decorates her house as part of her celebrations.
Another thank you must go to Jo Woolf of Jo’s Journal and the Hazel Tree. I have recently discovered that Jo nominated me for a Versatile Bloggers Award back at the end of September – I had been exploring blogs of those who comment here, and saw Paddy’s Daughter listed. Please check out Jo’s Blog – she is a great photographer, and her husband Colin is a superb artist, and they live in Scotland. Thank you Jo, and my apologies for being so tardy!! I’m supposed to nominate 15 other blogs for this award, and then tell you seven things about myself – not sure I want to do that though…..I shall think about nominating other blogs, but there is enough info on this blog about me already if one goes back to an earlier birthday post. However, in the interests of this award may I tell you:-
- I once earned my living training rats to run in Skinner boxes.
- I still bear the scars of rat bites on two fingers.
- I still have the teddy bear my Grandfather gave me on my 4th birthday.
- My first car was a VW Beetle.
- I do not like olives or anchovies.
- I won a prize at the Royal Adelaide Show for a piece of ceramics.
- I spend too much time on the computer!
I have also had a visitor for the last few weeks …….it is Cute Potatoe who has come the long way round, all the way from Dusseldorf in Germany. She began her journey in the middle of last year, and so far has visited Germany, Denmark, England – 3 stops, USA – 5 stops, Australia – 2 stops, and has one more in the Netherlands before returning home. Made by Beate Knappe, a photographer and textile artist, Cute Potatoe travels with a lot of stuff, gifts for us from Beate, and small gifts or ATCs for Beate and everyone else, photos, information about each host’s town, and a book to keep it all together. It is a bit of fun, but she is quite a parcel!
These are some of the ATCs that I shall be able to add to my collection. I must get her organised to send onwards.
