Daylesford is a well known tourist destination not far from where I live, and this morning I went there specifically to take photographs around the lake. There is a good walking track which circumnavigates it, a mile or so long. The lake, while very beautiful, is quite dangerous – once a quarry, it is very deep with underground caves, very cold water currents, and dark murky water, so swimming is not allowed, though boating, sailing and canoeing is. I was hoping for some good atmospheric shots in the early light, but for once the sun shone early and everything was bright and clear. Some of the birds were still snoozing in the morning sun, while others were more active, obviously used to being fed by visitors, and expecting breakfast!
