Guess what I shall be doing for the next day or two……..
Four cubic metres or four tonnes of River Red Gum firewood needs to be stacked in the wood shed……….There are going to be a group of quilting friends here for lunch on Sunday……maybe I should wait for them?? How about it girls?
This is good quality, split and dry – it will keep me and the house warm through most of winter. I do love the colours and the smell of it, even though the size of this pile is rather daunting. I know there are many varied opinions about the burning of Red Gum timber, depending on who you talk to, but it gives the best heat, is clean, does not bung up the chimney or fire – and as I have no other heating source, I really have no option than to use my slow combustion heater, as this town is not on the gas line and electricity is far too costly.
