It has been very stormy here for the last three hours or so, thunder, lightening and much needed, very heavy rain. Great for the garden, frightening for one of the dogs, but joy for the tiny tree frogs that inhabit my garden. These little guys are less than half an inch long, but I spotted several of them sitting on the edge of the decking behind the hydrangeas, perhaps waiting to catch something, or just enjoying the dampness. Taking these photos necessitated getting down at their level, and doing a poor imitation of a slow commando crawl – I’m glad no-one was here to witness!
Aren’t they gorgeous?? I’m told by my clever daughter that they are Litoria ewingii, and she gave this reference at the Melbourne Museum for more info.
