Your lovely comments about my two little painted pictures – that’s what! For those that asked, they are small – only about 3×6 inches each, but I will certainly try and do something a bit bigger next time. Marcie asked about the waves – just heaps of tiny French knots in white and a couple of light gray-blues – the rest is paint. The other shadings are just fine running stitches, everything in just one thread of DMC stranded cotton, which is itself was a bit of a challenge as I usually use much thicker threads.
Now for something completely different. I am sure that most of you have a kitchen cupboard where all the sundry plastic containers live? If yours is like mine, then one opens the door and quickly throws a container inside, shutting the door before others fall out onto the floor, and sometimes there is just no room? Mine was put to the test a recently when a visitor gave up in frustration, leaving items on the bench top because they just would not fit. The time had come to tidy it all, I could put it off no longer……..this is what I had when I pulled everything onto the floor…..
Having matched bottoms with lids, and ruthlessly chucked out any bits that were singles, plus a few surplus recylcled ones this is what it looked like when sorted out. Simple really – and I wondered why there had been so much procrastination!
Carried away by my success and sense of satisfaction – I then tackled my sewing room………….and I’m almost ashamed to show this small portion of a total chaos……before….
After………It took almost a whole day to sort things, but it is once more organised, and I have no excuse for not using it – so watch this space……..
