There was a birthday in this house a few days ago, which was celebrated several times in different venues with a total of three birthday cakes over four days, and it was not even a particularly special one. My children, their partners and their dogs came for the week end, and the men cooked my delicious birthday dinner, while the cake was made the next day in order to spread the calorific load! Not only is she a good cook, but my dear daughter has learned to crochet and is busy making hexagons in a lovely selection of colours…..
The canine visitors – Clover, Rusty, Squid with the resident, Bella the Pink Dog who did not really enjoy having to share her house with all these interlopers……
Last night my very good friends in this town held a small party in my honour with luscious nibbles, lots of champers, laughter and chat. I received some lovely gifts, unexpectedly generous and just what I love. They included three pots of this delicate lavender……….
This hand worked tea cosy which was bought in Morocco…….
Another most welcome gift came from the owner of this wonderful property – a big cardboard box of daffodils and bluebells, many of which will be unique varieties as the previous owner bred daffodils as a hobby. This property was badly damaged in the bushfires in February this year, and sadly is now for sale. I shall certainly miss my annual visit to admire what was a beautiful garden.
