Yesterday for some unknown reason my Blog had a record number of hits, a total of 55 when the usual number is about 20. I was sure my post about the expanding library could not have been so interesting as to attract many new readers. My Sitemeter gave me no clues, but further investigation revealed that more than 40 visitors were referred here from a site called alphainventions which somehow picks up on blogs being updated and shows them on that site. So…..if you are browsing on that site, then you can see what is happening here. I confess to not understanding how it really works and what the benefit may be (to anyone) but it does not seem to be a scam or else WordPress would not host it. Check out the site and see what you think – you might find other blogs which are really interesting. Anyway, nice to have some extra visitors, perhaps they will come back, and to understand why it happened.
I came across this blog some time ago in my web wanderings and have been meaning to pass it on. Those who are interested in felting and embroidery might like to have a look. This lady is in the UK, and she stitches the most lovely trees – her blog is called Kayla coo.
This is what I saw at my front gate again this morning. They remind me of the old nursery rhyme “Goosey Goosey Gander whither shall you wander?” (Which is not actually about a wandering goose, but relates to religious intolerance in the 16th century when Catholicism was banned.) Apparently they belong to people who live almost a kilometre further down my road but go for a daily wander down this way. They looked very grand, but were not at all friendly, and hissed at me as I got too close.
