There is a discussion happening on Stitchin’ Fingers about Chicken Scratch – a form of simple embroidery that is done on gingham fabric that is also known as Depression Lace, Chinese Pinwheel, Tic Tac Toe Embroidery and a host of other names according to the region of origin.
Chicken Scratch is also often used as a term for illegible handwriting, but this is my version…………
Bodil and Dorothea enjoying a dust bath during yesterday’s wander around the front garden in the heat. They then retreated underneath this weeping cherry tree to snooze away the afternoon.
One of the dogs needed a trip to the local vet yesterday morning, and as I was leaving I witnessed something that could only happen in the country. A newish, very smart and shiny Ford Territory arrived at the side gate of the vet practice. An initial glance registered a large dog in the back seat…….a second look revealed a moderately large cream coloured alpaca being led out of the car by its devoted owner and chauffeur. I wish I had had my camera handy it would have been a great shot. I do hope it gets better soon!
( PS. Don’t know why this silly program has changed the font in this paragraph……..??)
